: Open EScribe, locate the firmware update section, select the downloaded OXVA package, and follow the on-screen prompts to start the upgrade.
Since standard Xlim devices (like the Xlim Pro, SQ, or Go) cannot be updated via software, "updating" usually refers to resolving software glitches through a manual reset: Vaping 101
Software patches resolve known issues like screen freezing, inaccurate battery indicators, or delayed firing.
If you own the specialized DNA version of the Xlim Pro, you can manage its software using the Evolv EScribe suite: oxva xlim firmware update
Disconnect the wire and try a different USB port on your PC (motherboard ports on the back of a desktop are more stable than front ports). Ensure the device is powered off before connecting it while holding the designated upgrade button sequence. The Update Fails Mid-Way or Freezes
After the upgrade completes, disconnect the data cable. Press and hold simultaneously for more than two seconds. If the screen displays a version number (e.g., v111.2 ), the upgrade was successful. If no version appears or the device behaves erratically, repeat the process from Step 3.

Not every device in the Xlim lineup features an upgradeable chipset. Generally, devices with advanced screens, adjustable wattage menus, and data ports support firmware modifications.
