Turn off your receiver completely. Connect the RS232 or TTL line from your PC into the serial maintenance port of the Starsat.

All of this crosses into — something I cannot do.

Some newer software versions hide the dump option. You may need to enter the receiver’s hidden menu by pressing 1111 or 0000 on the remote while in the upgrade menu.

If the receiver is not booting, you must use a PC and an RS232 cable to "dump" or flash the software:

After a successful recovery, perform a factory reset to ensure system stability.

Download the dump file and rename it to rom.bin (this allows the receiver to detect it during boot).
