Players control Kril, a hermit crab whose protective shell has been repossessed due to unpaid taxes in a society spiraling into "garbage-fueled prosperity". The core gameplay loop is both whimsical and mechanically deep: Kril must wear discarded trash as makeshift shells to withstand attacks from enemies many times his size, wielding a trusty fork as his primary weapon.

Players who have experienced this update report that the "pollution meter" (which slowly damages Kril when outside clean water) features a different visual filter. Instead of the final greenish haze, 011642 uses a rainbow oil-slick effect that was deemed "too distracting" by playtesters.
